Merry Christmas to all
This time of year, instead of hope,
We often find ourselves with fear—
Bills and health and fragile plans,
Too much worry, little cheer.
It’s easy then to just forget
That those who walked in darkest night
Have seen at last a glorious light
Like shepherds, stunned by heaven’s song:
“Glory be to God on high!”
And still we trust in all things He
Is working good we cannot see,
For those He’s called and holds by grace,
His mighty hand will not release.
So in our dark, His light draws near:
A Child is born, our hope made clear
Christ the Lord, our peace, our light,
The gift of God this holy night.
